CYCLOSPORINE, BLOOD

Test Code CYA
Test CYCLOSPORINE, BLOOD
Methodology Chemiluminesence Microparticle Immunoassay (CMIA)
Description Useful for the quantitative measurement of Cyclosporine in whole blood to guide dosage adjustments for optimal immunosuppression while minimizing toxicity.
Specimen Draw blood in a lavender-top (EDTA) tube, and send 4.5 mL (0.3 mL minimum) of EDTA whole blood refrigerated. DO NOT CENTRIFUGE. Send in original VACUTAINER® tube.

NOTE:
Therapeutic ranges apply to trough specimens collected just prior to a.m. dose.
Peak ranges apply to peak specimens collected 2 hours post dose.

This test was developed and its performance characteristics determined by NorDx. It has not been cleared or approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Admnistration (FDA).

Reference Values Recommended Therapeutic Ranges for Neoral Monitoring on 12 hour Trough Samples:

Potentially toxic value: > 400 ng/mL

Cyclosporine (12 hour TROUGH) for non-renal transplant:
100 - 400 ng/mL
Potentially toxic value: > 400 ng/mL
