Methodology Enzyme Immunoassay (EIA) 
Description Useful for the detection of RSV antigen from nasopharyngeal specimens. 
Specimen SUBMIT ONLY 1 OF THE FOLLOWING SPECIMENS:

ASPIRATE
Dispense aspirate material into 3.0 - 4.0 mL of saline. Send specimen refrigerated in a screw-capped, sterile container. Maintain sterility and forward promptly.
NOTE: SPECIMEN SOURCE IS REQUIRED ON REQUEST
FORM FOR PROCESSING.

SWAB
Place swab specimen into 3.0 mL of saline. Send specimen refrigerated. Maintain sterility and forward promptly.
NOTE: SPECIMEN SOURCE IS REQUIRED ON REQUEST
FORM FOR PROCESSING.

WASH
3.0 - 4.0 mL of nasopharyngeal wash. Send specimen refrigerated in a screw-capped, sterile container. Maintain sterility and forward promptly.

FORM FOR PROCESSING.
