|Test||SEMEN ANALYSIS, POST VASECTOMY|
|Description||Useful to verify that sperm have been successfully excluded from the ejaculate after vasectomy. Report information will include the presence or absence of sperm cells and, if present, their concentration and motility status.|

To ensure the most viable semen specimen, semen collections are to be done at the NorDx 100 West Campus Drive Patient Service Center (PSC) in Scarborough. Hours for collection of semen specimens are Monday through Friday from 8:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. Private and clean spaces, as well as, collection instructions are available to patients who present to produce a semen specimen.
Forward the total ejaculate at ambient temperature (68 - 90°F or 20 - 32°C).
|Reference Values||The success of a vasectomy is assessed by the presence of <100,000 non-motile sperm/mL at six months after vasectomy.|
