Methodology Immunometric Assay (IMA)

Description Includes thyroglobulin antibody screen.
This is a monitoring test for differentiated thyroid cancer.
This test is useful for monitoring patients with thyroid cancer and for investigating cases of hyperthyroidism thought to be self induced by exogenous T4. 
Specimen Draw blood in a plain, red-top tube(s) or serum gel tube(s). Spin down and send 2.0 mL of serum refrigerated in a screw-capped, plastic vial. 
Reference Values Thyroglobulin Antibody Screen < 0.4 U/mL

Normal Thyroid___Tg (3 - 40 ng/mL)__TSH (0.3 - 4.0mIU/L)

Normal Thyroid (suppressed TSH)___Tg (1.5 - 20ng/mL)__TSH (<0.1 mIU/L)
