Methodology Latex Agglutination 
Description Useful for detecting polysaccharide antigens associated with Cryptococcus neoformans infection. 
Specimen Draw blood in either a plain, red-top tube or serum gel tube. Spin down and send 1.0 mL of serum refrigerated in a screw-capped, sterile vial. Maintain sterility and forward promptly. 
Reference Values Negative
Positives are titered up to 1:512.
Positive result is a critical value with auto call-back.
