Test PROFILE I, PARAPROTEIN EVALUATION, SERUM AND URINE
Methodology Turbidimetric Immunoassay / Electrophoresis / Immunofixation
Description Includes serum testing for albumin, immunoglobulins, total protein, and protein electrophoresis. Includes urine testing for total protein and protein electrophoresis. Serum and/or urine immunofixation will automatically be performed at an additional charge if needed to characterize monoclonal proteins.

Useful for the detection and monitoring of monoclonal gammopathies.

NOTE: This test is usually ordered in conjunction with a pathology consultation. The pathology professional component will be billed separately.

Specimen BOTH SERUM AND URINE ARE REQUIRED FOR THIS TEST. SERUM SHOULD BE DRAWN WITHIN 24 HOURS OF URINE COLLECTION.
