|Methodology||Quantitative Chemiluminescent Immunoassay|
|Specimen||1. Patient should empty bladder.
2. Have patient drink at least 0.5 liters of water.
3. Within 1 hour, collect a random urine specimen.
4. Transfer 3 mL from a well-mixed random collection to plastic, 10-mL urine tube.
If pH is greater than 8, lower pH to 6 - 8 by adding 1M HCL. If pH less than 6, increase pH to 6 - 8 by adding 5% NaOH. Titrate with appropriate preservative until pH of 6 - 8 has been reached. Record the pH on the transport tube.
