PCP
PHENCYCLIDINE (PCP) SCREEN WITH GC-MS CONFIRMATION, URINE

Test Code PCP
Test PHENCYCLIDINE (PCP) SCREEN WITH GC-MS CONFIRMATION, URINE
Methodology Enzyme Immunoassay (EIA)
Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrophotometry (GC-MS), if indicated
Description The screening assay detects phencyclidine (PCP) in urine. If the PCP screen is > = 25 ng/mL, the phencyclidine confirmation/quantitation by GC-MS is performed at an additional charge.

THIS TEST IS INTENDED FOR CLINICAL MONITORING AND MANAGEMENT OF PATIENTS. IT IS NOT INTENDED FOR NON-MEDICAL USE SUCH AS EMPLOYMENT OR FORENSIC TESTING.

Note: Specific gravity, pH, creatinine and oxidants will be performed and reported at no additional charge to identify potential adulteration of the urine specimen

INTENDED POSITIVES:
Phencyclidine (PCP, Angel Dust)

Specimen 25 mL (10.0 mL minimum) from a random urine collection in a non-sterile urine container. Send specimen refrigerated.
Reference Values Not Detected
EIA cutoff concentration: 25 ng/mL

GC-MS cutoff concentration: 5 ng/mL

Analytic Time 1 Day; 4 Days if positive
Day(s) Test Set Up Monday through Friday
CPT Code(s) 80301  Drug screen, qualitative, single drug class method
83992  Phencyclidine, if indicated
G0479  Drug test(s), presumptive by instrumented chemistry analyzers (Government payers, if appropriate)
