|Test||PHENCYCLIDINE (PCP) SCREEN WITH GC-MS CONFIRMATION, URINE|
|Methodology||Enzyme Immunoassay (EIA)
Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrophotometry (GC-MS), if indicated
|Description||The screening assay detects phencyclidine (PCP) in urine. If the PCP screen is > = 25 ng/mL, the phencyclidine confirmation/quantitation by GC-MS is performed at an additional charge.
THIS TEST IS INTENDED FOR CLINICAL MONITORING AND MANAGEMENT OF PATIENTS. IT IS NOT INTENDED FOR NON-MEDICAL USE SUCH AS EMPLOYMENT OR FORENSIC TESTING.
Note: Specific gravity, pH, creatinine and oxidants will be performed and reported at no additional charge to identify potential adulteration of the urine specimen
|Specimen||25 mL (10.0 mL minimum) from a random urine collection in a non-sterile urine container. Send specimen refrigerated.|
|Reference Values||Not Detected
EIA cutoff concentration: 25 ng/mL
GC-MS cutoff concentration: 5 ng/mL
|Analytic Time||1 Day; 4 Days if positive|
|Day(s) Test Set Up||Monday through Friday|
80301 Drug screen, qualitative, single drug class method
83992 Phencyclidine, if indicated
G0479 Drug test(s), presumptive by instrumented chemistry analyzers (Government payers, if appropriate)
