|Description||The CD45 leukocyte common antigen monoclonal antibody is a highly specific marker used to aid in the differential diagnosis of a large cell undifferentiated neoplasm when lymphoma is suspected morphologically and/or clinically. This antibody is expressed by cells of hematopoetic lineage and is present in most benign and malignant lymphocytes, erythrocytes and plasma cell precursors, but not in their mature counterparts.
NOTE: This test is usually ordered in conjunction with a pathology consultation. The pathology professional component will be billed separately by the consulting pathologist.
