|Test||ANTIMICROBIAL SUSCEPTIBILITY PANEL, YEAST|
|Methodology||Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC)|
|Description||Antifungals included in the assay are amphotericin B, fluconazole, 5-flucytosine, itraconazole, ketoconazole, voriconazole and caspofungin.
This assay is for use in vitro in determining quantitative antifungal susceptibility (MIC) of nonfastidious yeast including Candida species, Cryptococcus neoformans and other fastidious yeasts.
FOR RESEARCH USE ONLY
|Specimen||Send infecting yeast on Sabouraud's dextrose agar slant. Organisms must be in pure culture, actively growing, placed in a proper mailing container (agar plates are not acceptable), and labeled as an etiologic agent.
