Test PAROXYSMAL NOCTURNAL HEMOGLOBINURIA (PNH), BLOOD 
Methodology Flow Cytometry 
Description Useful to test for an acquired hematologic disorder characterized by intravascular hemolysis, venous thrombsis and defective hematopoesis. Includes flow cytometric analysis with a panel of antibodies to membrane proteins CD55, CD59, CD14 and CD16.

NOTE: This test is usually ordered in conjunction with a physician interpretation. The physician professional component will be billed separately by the consulting physician. 

Specimen SPECIMEN MUST BE RECEIVED WITHIN 24 HOURS OF COLLECTION.
Draw blood in one 5mL lavender-top tube. Send whole blood at ambient temperature only.

NOTE:
Date of collection and clinical information (to include diagnosis/suspected diagnosis) are required on request form for processing. Specify PNH testing. 

Reference Values An interpretive report will be issued.
