Test IRON, 24-HOUR URINE 
Methodology Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP) Emission Spectroscopy 
Description Useful for diagnosis of hemochromatosis, hemolytic anemia, paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinemia, and impaired biliary clearance 
Specimen 1. 10 mL (minimum 5.0 mL) from a 24-hour urine collection. No preservative. See "Urine Preservatives" for multiple collections.
2. Collect in clean, plastic urine containers(s) with no metal cap(s) or glued insert(s) supplied by NorDx.
3. Send specimen in a clean, plastic aliquot container with no metal cap or glued insert. See "Metals Analysis - Collection and Transport" for complete instructions.
4. Refrigerate specimen within 4 hours of completion of 24-hour collection. Send specimen refrigerated.

NOTE:
1. 24-HOUR VOLUME IS REQUIRED ON REQUEST FORM FOR PROCESSING.
2. Follow "Urine Collection" instructions. 

Reference Values 100 - 300 g/specimen
The reference value is for a 24-hour collection. Specimens collected for other than a 24-hour time period are reported in units of g/L, for which reference values are not established.
