Methodology Electrochemiluminescence Immunoassay (ECLIA) 
Description Useful in diagnosing Cushing's Syndrome or depression due to neuroendocrine disorders. 
Specimen At around 8:00 am draw blood in either a plain, red-top or serum gel tube. Spin down and send 1.0 mL (minimum volume: 0.5 mL) of serum refrigerated.

NOTE:
1. Dexamethasone 1 mg (20g/kg) orally at 11:00pm. (night prior to blood drawing)
2. Patients should not be on steroid medication.
3. Date and time drawn must be indicated on the requisition.
